Thumbs up Glen Moore With Oregon

Glen's out on tour right now. The remaining US dates are in Minneapolis, Chicago, Philly, and New York. The schedule's here: www.ralphtowner.com

I had the good fortune to catch the show last night at the Aladdin Theater in Portland, OR. The band has a young drummer on traps these days, and is easily in the good form that I remember from shows in past decades. There's more of an electric thing going on than there used to be, since Towner plays key and guitar synths a fair amount (besides his wonderful classical guitar and acoustic piano playing), and Glen played EUB on a few tunes as well. Moore's work on the Klotz was simply astounding last night though, especially the arco sections. As always, the group interplay is remarkable.

Check it out if you have the chance. This band is a treasure, and they don't tour all that much anymore.
