| Did anybody check out the IAJE festival in NYC this week? I balked at going because I'm not a member, but wound up going everyday; walking into everything for "free" was not a problem. There were a lot of killer bassists-the ones I caught were Avishai Cohen, Steve Kirby, Larry Grenadier, Clarence Seay, Chris Wood, Pattitucci, Buster Williams, and Omer Avital. Ron Carter didn't show up to his gig with the City College of NY group-unless I was in the wrong room. There were a lot of cats just hanging out including Bulldog Drummond. Anyway, it was a good hang, bass-wise, not to mention all of the other good players on other axes. bassgeek
