Injuries in bassist

Hi you all,

I'm new here @ Talkbass but I've been playing bass for almost 2 years now. But in that short span of time I've suffered a couple of injuries as a result of my playing. This has lead me to do this project I am currently working on to get a general consensus of what habits we as bass players do and or don't have that result in our injuries. Would anyone like to help me out by completing the survey I created; its completely anonymous & may take upwards to 3 min. of your time. I will get back to guys & let you know what I find.

The link to the survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HDXR32Q

Thanks,

I did it. You could have included do you sit or stand while playing? Also the most important info about injuries is the assessing players relationship to pain - did they ignore pain, take drugs, rest/stretch, consult a medical professional, push through the pain etc. I've know classical musicians who have had to quit playing because of injury - they waited too long before dealing with it. Like pro athletes many classical musicians play w/injuries and try to hide it fearing they will not get the job. There are many sides to this issue, your survey may only reveal certain factors while ignoring many others. What are you looking to ascertain/determine with this?
