Had the pleasure of listening and seeing this great bassist in New Orleans last week, several times with the Rob Wagner trio. He is a brilliant improvisational player, great intonation, technique, arco and pizz. I say "seeing" because his physical approach probably defies everything we usually associate with proper posture and stance. He melts over the shoulders of the bass. anyone going to the Jazz Fest should check him out. he also has a group named Astral Project.
