I know she's been to Cuba and possibly studied w/ Cachaito while there. I'll ask her next time I see her, we're in the same neighborhood. I used to listen to Cachaito w/ pianist Peruchin and flutist Jose Fajardo (recordings from the 50's) when I was a youngster. Great tone and always in the pocket.
Easy,

| | | | RR,
I could be totally off base here, but my assumption was that she went to Mcgill Univeristy in Montreal. I'll talk to my friend, perhaps they hooked up in NYC.

She's actually the reason I started playing bass - she is a few years older than me and I saw her playing in the junior high jazz band and I was so impressed - when I was in grade school.
She is actually a cellist by training. Though she played bass in the school jazz ensembles, she only moved to it professionally later. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
