Hello,
(Hope it is ok to post here)
I'm an old guy (56) that plays jazz Piano. Played professionally for 25 years and then like many other musicians got into computer programming so I could take care of a family. I now play in a duo with another old guy (53) who plays Wind Synth. He's an old friend who I've known and played with since I was 23. We both work in the IT department at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb Illinois. On Tuesdays after work we play at my house which is in Hampshire Illinois. I play on a fairly new, always impeccably tuned, Mason & Hamlin grand. It’s sweet. Our sessions are really great. We play simply, attentively, and with a lot of sensitivity. Over the years, we both have learned a great deal from the Bill Evans trios and at each of our sessions we strive to achieve a higher and higher level of interplay that was such a strong element in the Evans trios.
We are looking for someone in the Chicago area who wants to play. We don’t care if you’re 18 or 108, just that you are capable, want to play, and that you listen well. It’s probably a long shot that we’ll find anyone that wants to come all the way out here, but if you live in the Chicago area and might be interested please respond or you can even e-mail me at
