Is he as good as my teacher says?
Anyone got any recordings or videos?

Watching his youtube videos- He sound pretty ligit to me.
Even my teacher says he is probably one of the best, if the THE best bass player in the world.
Yo-Yo Ma- King of the cello is good friends with him. And he likes his playing a lot.
And what is wrong with playing the cello suites on the bass? It sounds better on the bass..
Even I did it, is that bad? |

No there is not. People have been doing it for hundreds of years. |

Edgar Meyer is a bad ass, you are lucky to have a lesson with him. I hope you gain greatly from it.

Edgar's a great guy. If anyone doesn't like him it's because he raises the bar so incredibly high for any other musician let alone bass players. |

I think you will really enjoy the lesson. My only advice is to not talk too much, just listen and learn. You might videotape it if possible. If not, definitely record it. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
