Missed Opportunity

Wynton Marsalis came to Oklahoma City Thursday for the re-opening of our Civic Center Music Hall, and I decided not to go instead of getting a sub for my regular Thursday gig. I knew that it was his regular band with Wycliffe Gordon, Wessell Anderson, et al, but they weren't sure who the bassist and pianist was. I later heard it was Eric Reed and Rodney Whitaker, two of my current favorites. D'oh!

Ouch. I HATE IT when that happens.
