Paul Chambers Tribute

I went to one of the greatest bass shows ,that i have been to in a while. A tribute to the great Paul Chambers, with John Patitucci and Rufus Reid. This was part of the tribute also to Miles Davis "Kind Of Blue" album. Danilo Perez got these guys together for this great event. Their performance was one to never forget, covering many of PC's classic tunes.
These great bassist really showed that doing a gig like this with just the two bassist ,can really move and carry a good crowd . Danilo played on a few tunes, but it was mostly John and Rufus and "NO DRUMMER". Their basses sounded great with no amplication only house mikes. What more can i say ,just if by chance they come to your city don't miss it.
I think Danilo said this was a "Limited Engagement". (lucky me)
I will pull out all of my PC stuff and get busy.
Btw it was in my hometown "Philly" .

Don't you mean color me blue in green?

On a separate note sounds like a cool show. Was Rufus loud enough? I saw him play a similar thing with Richard Davis last month and could barely hear anything he was playing. Maybe it was the hall.

I could hear Rufus Bass , he was not as loud as John ,but it projected well.
You could see that Rufus does'nt dig in as much as John ,i guess that is his touch.
The other factor was that neither one of them did a arco solo in the way PC did.
The only arco stuff they did was with Danilo on their own compositions.
Both of their basses had the low C extentions and they made great use of them , what good addition to a bass.
