Petya Bagovska

http://www.bagovska.com/bass/

I was wondering if any of you had studied or attened a masterclass of Petya Bagovska. Any advice is important, because she has recently offered me private study with her abroad (in Sofia, Bulgaria.) She was very interested in solo bass, not so much orchestra. She loved competitions and wanted me to try them out in Europe. I took a lesson from her and she was very detailed and strict. Everything was very slow and had to be extremely well thought out before you shifted or moved. I did like her teaching style, but I want other opinions if anyone has them.

Wow . . .

If I'm not mistaken, she was one of the two bassists that recently played with the Northwest Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The other one was Mark Sonksen, who is my luthier.

Frankly, I was unfamiliar with her but, per her web site, this is a high class player and teacher. She gets a high recommendation from Greg Sarchet on his site as weill. And to think that she teaches 300 yards up the street from me.

I'd certainly seriously consider any opportunity to study with her. Good luck.

Does anyone else have any experience with this teacher?
