Please help me identify this!!!

So I was walking through Macy's with the wife. I usually don't pay much attention to the music they play in that store but suddenly I found myself totally sucked in by a bass cover of "Come Together" by the Beatles.

I am fairly sure it was a solo double bass playing it but I suppose there is a small chance that it could have been a fretless electric. I am pretty sure it was just solo...maybe some light drums behind it - hard to hear over the din created by shoe shopping hags.

It ended and I figured I'd pop home and Google it....no dice.

Can anyone guide me to this sublime piece of music? It must be something fairly mainstream as I doubt that Macy's is playing rare or unobtainable performances over their p.a. system.

Help please~!

Russ

IT's MUZAK. They couldn't tell who it was and the store detective didn't want me hanging around the customer service desk.

I've heard that played superbly by Nick Walker, bass professor at Ithaca college. I wonder if it's him?

My guess would be Brian Bromberg. I know at some point he did that on a recording.

Marcus Miller has done a version. A very simple song too...Em or Dm...Am.
All nice open string keys. Good for bass and guitar, also good for soloing. Rots 'o ruck, Cooky boy.

Avishai Cohen does a killer DB version on his Lyla album.

Greetings! It is cut #3 on the Brian Bromberg "Wood" CD. Distributed by A 440 music group and recorded in 2002. A fantastic CD; he is joined by Randy Waldman on piano, and David Bromberg on drums. Fantastic playing!! Regards, KJPbop
