Jamerson was a key Architect of the Motown sound as he was house bassist for the label from 1959-1972. James has already been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville, but he has not been honored in his home state of South Carolina.
