R.I.P. Horacio Rodriguez

Did any of you NYC guys know Horacio (Cola) Rodriguez? He was a jazz and latin bassist from Argentina who spent several decades in Austin, TX and moved to New York a few years ago. I just found out that he passed away recently.

That's so sad to hear. I was wondering what happened to him. He was a good player.

I haven't heard of him, but that's sad to hear. Do you know of any recordings that I can hear him on?

Do you happen to know his birthdate?
Was there an obit somewhere on the Net?

I don't know of any obits or his birthdate. Horacio was a young man (probably about 50) at the time of his death. He came to Austin, TX from Argentina with Angel Sucheras in the late '70's for a house gig at a really nice new jazz club called "McKedrick's (sp?) Treehouse". Unfortunately, the jazz format at the club didn't last, but Horacio stayed in Austin anyway.
I don't know his discography, but he was one of the most tasteful players I ever heard.
