I love his solo work, as well as his stuff with Ratdog, Lou Reed, David Grisman, Elvis Costello, etc.

I organized an album release party for his first solo recording way back when in Berkeley. He was a gentleman and an interesting player.

Any other fans?

I love his playing. His chosen contexts are not at all my thing, but I do think he really carved out an interesting career for himself.
I researched his work recently when I started working with 6 and 7 string EUBs. I have his solo acoustic bass LP, which I remember as being good.

Wasserman is a great player and model of cross-genre playing.

I'm having my senior (Univ.) electric bass student play an adaptation of Wasserman's Bass Space as transcribed in Chuck Sher's An Improviser's Bass Method for his Jury tomorrow. It's quite the challenge on DB, and interesting enough on electric.
