That is not a topic of wide interest that I wish to elaborate on. Let's stick with the music.

Personally, I think your statement was jive....nothing personal.
Honey, it's my thread, and I'll stick to anything I feel like stickin' to.....
I think I wanna stick right here. You stuck it out there. Where did you know Scott from? Was he an acquaintance? A friend? He steal yer old lady? Cop some of your licks? I dunno.....Please do tell.
Thank you.

Ha! Ha! I admire your sense of humor. No, I never met Scott LaFaro, I was only familiar with his bass playing early on. He drove many of my bass students crazy. They tried to imitate him, as have many others. I knew however several close friends of Paul Motian and Bill Evans. Enough said.

Yeah, that says it all.
Thank you.

That doesn't necessarily mean Eddie Gomez played "Eddie Gomez." Mike Richmond told me about playing with Miles. It was clear to him that gig was about laying it down.

A buddy of mine studied with Dave Holland. Dave told him a story about when he was playing with Miles early on. Dave said he was playing a lot of upper register "horn" type of stuff on some gig. At some point Miles turned around and said,"Dave, you're a bass player."

+1 That sounds right. With some limited exceptions, I don't recall any recordings where Miles' bassist was doing anything but laying it down. The limited exceptions would be solos and Nefertiti.
