Ah, Live at the Village Vanguard. What a great disc. I really wish that they would put the extra takes at the END of the disc, though. I love the tunes, but I would prefer to hear the album the way it was released, and then hear the extra tracks after that. But, I will never tire of this disc, and I guess I really can't complain about more of Scott LaFaro's playing...

Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue

That's my "What would you take with you to a deserted Island" - record.

I can hear it over and over again, it never bores me.

Lets see: Modern Jazz Quartet/Milt Jackson Quintet (Percy Heath)
Glen Moore - Nude Bass Ascending
Petrushka (Stravinsky)- Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra
One of those Steve Lacy doing Monk tunes from the early 60's (Buell Neidlinger - one of the greatest bass mysteries in my opinion)
Ernest Ranglin - that album he did in Senegal.

That's it (all with Double Bassists).
