an academic problem

while playing my bass a few minutes ago I heard a slight swooshing sound, I picked it up, shook it back and forth and it happened again, I grabbed a flashlight to have a look inside and to my surpsie, there are juicy fruit wrappers and graphing paper(my bass came from the ny school system) I tried laying it on its side and using jewelers forceps to pull it out but i cant seem to reach, any solutions?

You can make an extension for your vacuum cleaner by taking a two or three sheets of ordinary printer paper or similar, rolling them and inserting one roll into another (some adhesive tape will help).

There is no need to make any rigid connection to the vacuum cleaner hose, it is sufficient to stick the paper tube inside it and seal with your hand around it.

This works surprisingly well, and the paper is soft enough so you won't risk scratching (or even worse, breaking up) the f-holes.

I had the same problem with my high school bass. Kind of shows the respect that basses get that the f-holes become a gum wrapper receptacle.

My dad simply picked it up, turned it top facing down, and shook it. Everything came out pretty cleanly. Personally, I'm surprised it even worked, but it did.

Hardware store. vinyl tubing+duct tape+vacuum= clean bass. Sometimes I put gum wrappers in my own bass, just for fun.
