Question Adjustable bridge

I am an electric bassist getting reacquainted with the upright. I bought an old Maesel bass with an adjustable bridge with the turnwheels. I know nothing about how to adjust this bridge. The bass came with the string height set high, maybe for bluegrass. I would like to lower the strings. I could use any info and tips regarding the adjustment of the bridge. Thanks in advance.

Loosen the strings about a half semitone. Spin the wheels to take it up/down. On mine, I'm pretty sure it's counter-clockwise to take the bridge down, but I'm at work and the last time I had mine adjusted, I took it to a luthier who fixed the stickiness I had in my adjusters (they weren't adjusting).

There's a couple threads that have "average" string height -- if you search for "string height" you should come across them.

The adjusters should be at the same height on both sides.
