Bass Luthiers in Michigan?

Hi I am in need of a luthier and I live in Detroit. Anyone know of specific luthiers they use, or a big fat list of luthiers in Michigan? My teacher uses a guy in Lansing, but i wanted to know if there was anyone closer.

There was a guy named Peter Psarianos in Royal Oak many years ago. You might check if he's still around. There's a guy in Grand Rapids (but that's even farther than Lansing!). Feel free to contact me through my website. I'll be glad to help if I can.

Try getting in touch with a bassist from DSO.

It's not close to Detroit, but Steve Riley at the Guarneri House in Grand Rapids is one of the best, IMO.

I strongly recommend Jeff Branch in Waterford. He recently did a complete restoration of my 1890's Juzek and did an amazing job and at a very fair price. He does fine work with EBG's as well. PM me for his contact info

FYI, the Juzek company started around 1920.

I also highly recommend Jeff Branch. He not only does great work, he has very reasonable rates and he is one of the most honest and nicest guys you will ever meet.

We're doing a project with Dan Seabolt in Muskegon, MI right now. Can't sing this guy's praises enough. Check out his stuff:

Daniel Seabolt-Double Bass Maker

Don't miss the snap of Edgar Meyer checking out one of his basses.

+1 on Daniel. We've commissioned him to build some basses for us. Top notch!
