Best Luthier In Nashville For Jazz

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a lutheir for my bass who can set up my instrument well for jazz music in nashville. I've had Jim Ferguson help me out before, because he teachers at my school, but he cut my nut kinda low on my bass, and it has never really played right since. Any reccomendations?

I played several basses set up by Dustin several weeks ago at the SPBGMA show in Nashville and really liked them. I plan on taking mine to him soon for some work.

He had a really great sounding Juzek there that I have been longing for ever since the show.

Dustin is top notch. Another possibility is David Harvey who works out of the Gibson Showcase. Both have done work for me and I have NO complaints.

I would probably recommend Dustin first because he tends to be a little more timely with his work. Plus you can always spend some time playing the basses he has for sale. David tours quite a bit and is involved with quite a few recording projects. It can literally be months before he gets to your work.

Jim Ferguson is an excellent choice in Nashville, and a superb jazz bassist and all around good guy.

take it back

I've met Jim Ferguson and he knows what he's doing. If you're not happy with the nut, tell him. I think he'll take care of it for you.
Dustin Williams work is also superb.
