bow hair

Ok I'm starting from scratch now. I'm so unbelievably frustrated with my current bow hair supplier that I'm ready to beat him over the head with this last 2 lb. hank he sold me.

It's, by far, the worst hair I've ever bought. I've seen saltine crackers that weren't that brittle. This has me scratching my head because hanks he's sold me in the past were really good. He's getting everything from China and I'm sure even he is getting bleached hair thrown in the mix periodically at no fault of his own..

Those of you luthiers doing rehairs in the states, where do you get some quality Siberian stallion hair at a decent price? Is your recommended supplier consistent in quality?

Try Pioneer Valley Luthier Supply. Recommended to me by a bow maker, and I've had good results.
