Bridge does'nt make 100% contact

Hey,

I got an old one, €200,= Placed the neck by myself, did some things with the fingerboard.

The bridge does'nt make a perfect contact on the bass. Makes that the bass sound less louder? Or does it have other concequents?

Thanx (sorry for mine use of your language)

I guess that is not good, or well, it's not suppose to happen. But... on my second bass for instance that is also the case and the bass sounds great. loud, lots of growl, it has a real rich tone and I don't like taking my basses in, unless I absolutely have to. So, I am not doing anything for now. I hope the bass won't be damaged, but both my basses sound so good that I don't want to do anything...

Not good. Bridge must have as good a contact as you can get with top of bass. If not, the sound will not be good, bass will not have good volume, and can damage the bass.

i as well have this problem. on the E side, the foot of my bridge is not flush against the bass. I took it to Heinl in toronto, and they didn't really do anything about it and didn't seem too concerned. However, I am curious as to what everyone else in this situation has done. Are there any good home remedies? Do i need a new bridge? What cases this (my bridge fit perfectly at one point.

if your bridge fit well at one point, then i would think that maybe it has been moved. is it in the correct position? the feet that fit well in the correct position will not fit well if moved because of the curvature of the top. if that is your problem, just move the bridge back to the correct position (or get help to do so). Good luck...
