Question Bridge Snapped...

About a month ago I was practicing and right in the middle of playing a double stop my bridge snapped in half.... scared the crap outta me... just wondering if anyone has ever had this happen to them, or heard of this at all?... my luthier says he has only seen/heard of about 3 other cases like this... just wondering...

I've had a singer snap and a guitarist snap on me but never a bridge.

I had a bridge snap on me once. Lukily it was at home practicing and not at a gig. The bridge was cut very thin and it had started to warp slightly. I should have replaced it but I procrastinated about it and a snaped bridge is what I got.

And yeah, it does scare the hell out of you.
