Who has experience with getting money from airlines when they damage your bass? I filed a claim and I've called British air. They said that they have a maximum compensation of $1100. I've taken the bass to a local luthier in Boston, he looked at it and came up with a solution to replace the entire neck, scroll, and fingerboard for $2200. But I don't find it worth the money to fix the Kay... Please share with me some of your experiences.

You're lucky you got anything, and that the damage wasn't more severe.

From the look of the pic, I'd be surprised if the rest of the bass isn't trashed as well.
