Scroll down the bottom, there is a pic on this King Mortone. Neck looks cracked. Is that the kiss of death?
Any luthier opinions greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Was tempted to jump on it, but that neck joint looked fishy, | Being a King, that bass had potential. The neck needed replacing, which would enable correct alignment for steel strings. We don't know what else needed fixing, but $800 plus repairs could result in a nice bass. Quote: | ... and I already have a plywood bass...How many basses does one man need? | "Need"? For a while, I was up to seven. I guess that was excessive. Two sounds about right...well, maybe three...uh, well.....hmmmm...

...How many basses does one man need?
| As the folks at HUMMER say, "Need is subjective."

So, to rephrase the question:

Simply take the number of basses you currently own and add "1".

Chas | Does the "1" go in front of, or after, the current number?

Does the "1" go in front of, or after, the current number? | My thought was:
where b = number of current basses owned and n = number needed, n = b+1
But I went to a pretty liberal University. Go with whatever makes you comfortable.

Coincidentally, I learned a few things down the road from you: Fort Leonard Wood.
