C# Neck?

I played a bass yesterday that I'm considering buying that I could swear has a C# neck on it.

Could this be a bridge position issue? Or would I need to have some material taken off the heal to get it down where it should be? The heal looks to have plenty of material if it comes to that.

Or am I worrying over nothing here?

Also, it had a pretty strong wolf tone when you played an A on the D string, but that's another issue altogether.

if the bridge is centred across the FF hole nicks, and the neck is a C# thumb stop, yes you can remove wood from the heel - if there's enough of it - to make a D neck.
