Just get a small bottle of Titebond liquid hide glue - most hardware stores carry it. It's water-soluble, so cleanup is a snap.

Personally, I don't think liquid hide glue is a good choice-- it is very likely to reabsorb water, and revert to liquid. It never gets past that stage, as far as I know.

What Chet said.

If you want bottled convenience, just use white or yellow glue. You're repairing the wood, not a seam or joint, so you don't really need the reversibility of hide glue.

Titebond II should do the trick, and it's useful around the house for other applications..

Make sure you use a clamp to hold the pieces of wood together, wile the glue dries.
