Custom carved endpin?

Hey all,

I've been playing electric bass for a few years, and just a few months ago picked up double bass. I was out to see one of my good friends at a show.. he is a violin player for a band called the Lost Ramblers. I noticed that the bass player of the Lost Ramblers had like a little carved boot where the rubber piece would be on his endpin.

Does anyone know of anyone who carves these endpin tips?

A friend of mine once got a new pair of baby size Nikes and corked one and stuck the end of his endpin in it for a week. It was kindof cool. Maybe you could try something like that.

Eh, I'm talking like this guy had a fully carved little boot that matched the bass.
