Do it yourself luthier

This guy is the bass player for a bluegrass group in Columbia, Missouri. Cheap bass--notice how the ebonized fingerboard has worn down to the bare maple wood--held together by duct tape, played through a 15" Crate amplifier, and sounded pretty good.

lol, Would it have been that hard to get some hide glue or even just some old woodwork glue from the hardware store? Lovin that bridge placement too!
