Does anyone have a picture of the proper position for the bridge?

Does anyone have a picture of the proper placement for the bridge? I am thinking mine might be too high, as it is above the little "notch" on the f-holes. It should be directly even with the notch, correct?

generally, you center the bridge on the inner notches of the f holes. If the bass is in good north and south alignment then you center the bridge with equal distance from the outer part of the bridge feet to the f hole. Make sure the feet are planted with no space between them and the top. Make sure the bridge front and back are correct. The back is flat and at a 90 degree from the top, or slightly fitted with a tilt southward, because of the pull northward by the strings. There is more to it than this, but I am assuming that the notches in the top of the bridge are correct and that the bass is in true alignment from scroll to the saddle. Some old basses lose the alignment and you have to (sometimes) do something different. For example if a top has been removed and replaced too much to one side, then you have to adjust the bridge location(or redo the top)It's important to have the bassbar foot on top the bassbar, whereever it might be located - within reason. This is my experience briefly. Most of us who install a lot of bridges could go on and on with this subject, but in respect to the "quick reply", I'll stop here. good luck,..
