Endpin collar wood damage?

Weird bass accident...I was practicing the other day, and sneezed. I guess I hadn't locked my endpin in the notch, because the forward motion of the sneeze was enough to send the bass sliding down the endpin. It bottomed out with a small CRACK! and little bits of ebony went flying around the room.

I looked at the wood collar where the thin, tapered lip meets the bottom of the bass and almost half of the ebony there had broken away.

I know this is a tapered plug and it still is sitting straight on the bass. Should I be worrying about this or keeping an eye on something?

A big sneeze! I would think that the ebony that broke off would be the short grain bits on the collar. You should check it closely for cracks, just in case, but as long as the plug was properly fitted it should be okay - a little unsightly maybe but...
