Endpin (Ebony v. Rose wood)

My endpin broke and I need to replace it. Is there a difference in performance between rosewood and ebony?
Thanks.

well i believe(dont quote me on this) that ebony is a harder wood, so id go with the ebony if you need durability(looks nice too)

I don't think that it really matters what you use for an end pin socket as long as it it well designed and well made. I think the main advantage of an ebony end pin socket is that it will match the fingerboard and tailpiece (aesthetics).
