Question Endpin Help

Hi to all.

I just bought a bass that needs an endpin replacement. The thing is that it has a “wide” 1 7/16” hole (roughly 36mm). Most of the plugs I’ve found are narrower, even on the wide end. Lemur sells a Goezt with an ebony plug that supposedly graduates in size from 1 1/4" to 1 11/16". I assume that should do the job…but, hey, I’m no luthier.
On an old thread, someone questioned these dimensions arguing they would yield a 7” plug, assuming the standard 1/17 taper. After reading that, I don’t know if the folks at Lemur mistyped the dimensions on their website and I’m not willing to spend $145 to find out, so I’m wondering if anyone can confirm both diameters on the Goetz plug (maybe someone that has one installed), or if anyone can recommend an endpin that would fit my bass and where can I get it.
The whole bushing-of-the-hole thing it’s kind of out of question for me. I live in a small place and there is not a single luthier around here.
If I finally get a fitting endpin, I’d appreciate advice on installing it myself, if that is even possible. (With all respect to the craft, I know my way around tools, basic instrument setup and wood… I have to, remember: no luthiers down here ;-)

check out the pins on www.kcstrings.com we have tapers in larger sizes for your situation, also have other options. if we have a taper that will fit, the only issue will be the taper in your bass, unfortunatly the reamers cost more than the end pins. if our pin has a problem we'll swap out tapers till it works or I can make you a custom taper.

Thumbs up Interested

Thanks for the response.
You've got nice options there.
I would be interested on the custom endpin (or on that would fit, for the matter). Which dimensions do you need? I obviously don't own a reamer. Maybe I can measure the taper on my bass and let you know. Would this be of any help?

Thanks again.
