Enzo-scope

I have managed to train a cockroach to take pictures for me from inside a closed bass, and report back.

His name is Enzo. He is single, loves photography, wine, banana sandwiches and walks in the park.

This is the best thing I've seen here in a long time. I thought I'd seen it all with the Ford car parts orchestra!

Very cool Matthew.

What are you really using? I saw a dental camera on the net, complete with USB-powered LEDs but my son said I wouldn't be happy with the resolution.

borescopes work pretty well for taking a peek inside a bass

Here's Enzo

He prefers to use a Leica M8 with Summicron lenses but we sometimes have a little difficulty getting them in through the FF holes so I gave him a notebook webcam for his birthday and stripped it right down.

Mmmm, cockroach! Do you barbecue those critters? Ranch them?

I have a webcam I bought to do laparoscopic surgery on guitars. Maybe I'll have to dismember it so it'll fit in the f-holes.

My Sony digital takes okay pix through the endpin hole.

First I have to train him how to carry linen patches to the right spot. I'm working on a small LED powered gluepot for him.

I just had a brilliant idea. If I feed Enzo enough gelatine ...

Damn! I thought I'd seen some big cockroaches in Washington Heights, but that thing's bigger than my neighbor's dog! You guys have some huge spiders down there too, right? They might be harder to train, but their creeping gate might allow slower shudder speeds and smaller apertures! Now, how about replacing linen with spider silk for rib cracks?
