Extensions on the West Coast/Seattle-area

I'd like to fit a C-extension onto my bass, but I'm not sure where to go to have it done. I live in Seattle, so I'd prefer to have someone in the PNW work on it. Hammond-Ashley didn't seem too enthused about taking on the project, and neither did my regular luthier. The only extension I've seen H-A do recently was a KC strings one, and I'd really prefer a high-quality wood extension, maybe in the vein of those done by the Bass Cellar or Heartland strings.

Depending on how long it takes to fit the extension, I'd be willing to make a trip out of it - drive my bass in, have it worked on, drive it back. But I can't very well drive to Iowa or Ohio.

Anyone have any suggestions?

You might try Ken Larson in Everett, if you haven't already. I believe he still does work for the bass church.

I bought my bass from the Bass Church and Anna didn't mention him as a possibility, but I could always call him.

You might want to try Gerard Samija in Vancouver, its only a few hours away from you.
His website is gerard@luthier.ca

He has done extensions for some of the Vancouver Symphony bassists and does very high quality and innovative work.
He did an extension with tuneable capos for my Bass several years ago, the pictures may still be available on his website.

His work is really good and his prices are extremely reasonable.
