Fingerboard?

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if you all had any idea of where to look to purchase a new ebony fingerboard. Ive seen a few online at upton, gollihur, and lemur. Have any of you all ever bought one of these boards? Any and all advise would be appreciated.

Thanks
Charles

I haven't purchased a fingerboard, but all of these guys are top notch. Call them and tell them what you need.

I've bought a couple of the 'Best' ebony parts from Upton and liked them quite a bit.

fingerboard

Last month I got a very nice "ebony Indian grade A" fingerboard from International violin ($150). Good wood, big blank. Recommended.

You're probably better off spending a little more money. A fine quality ebony board will finish up like a mirror, wear longer between dressings and provide greater stability to the neck. Well worth the extra money. Remember, the poor man pays twice.
