Fingerboard buzz

I have really bad buzzing in half and first position (just a little on the a string, but really bad on the E string). How much should I expect to pay to get my fingerboard dressed? How long does the process usually take? Thanks.

All the things you are asking varry from town to town, luthier to luthier. Call one you trust and ask, that's the only real way to know. As for my bass the fingerboard dressing was $150.00 at David Gage, my bass was there for about 3 days. I had other work done at that time as well so YMMV.

The full price down here is approximately the same. According to my luthier a fingerboard dressing can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the amount of work required.
