Hey Guys,
I had to get some work done to my upright. It sounded like poop and the strings were like playing with razorblades. So I searched on here for a luthier and came up with a couple in my area. I've been in contact with all of them for a few weeks and decided on Ben Joella from
http://www.joellabasses.com/
He replaced the wire on the tailpiece, flattened and reset the bridge, cut and adjusted the soundpost, shaved the nut, and adjusted the action... the bass is 100000% better adn easier to play... he explained what was wrong with it and made recommendations for other repairs (which I'm going to have him do early next year) and did all this in a matter of 3 days for a very modest price.
I know a lot of guys come here to find luthiers... so you in Florida... I'd recommend Ben one hundred times over. He was the nicest and most professional guy I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with.
