General Maintenance

Young amateur bassist here.
I'm wondering if there are any particular things which I should be doing in terms of general maintenance of my bass. Just in terms of cleaning etc.
Right now I never clean it so I assume I should. Are there any cleaning routines that I should get into? ie cleaning strings or neck.

- use the search button a lot
- keep the bridge perpendicular to the top
- wipe the strings and fb down every now and then with a cloth damped with rubbing alcohol , but don't get any on the varnish
- keep the back of the neck really clean; if the grime is hard to get off use a little all purpose spray/wipe cleanser.
- IF your bass is a low priced plywood bass you can keep the varnish clean with same product and/or use a little furniture polish.
