| Getting a body buzz... I have an old German plywood. Until recently it hasn't been played in years. I'm getting back into it now and felt the need to drop the action by filing the bridge. I went in very small increments over a period of a few weeks to see how I liked it.
I always did it with the other strings under tension, slowly and carefully. Finally got it down to where I love it, but noticed a buzz a day after the finally filing. It's not from the neck or strings, I was painfully avoiding any string vibration fingerboard issues and the bridge did not move at all.
It's a slight buzz that can be stopped with a very light touch on the the front of the body near the F holes or below the bridge towards the tail. I can hold the bridge with no change in the buzz, but as soon as the front of the body is touched it's gone.
I can get it to go away by place a crayon (I have kids and it was soft and handy) under the string connection on the tail, which just causes some pressure, basically the same as if I held my finger there.
I'm not expecting an exact diagnosis, but any ideas where to look? Should I check the bass bar? There are no visible seam separations.
