good string height for rockabilly slapping

i pretty much only play slap on my DB it seems like i'm putting in a lot more effort and not getting as good of a sound as other players. I'm pretty sure i just need to lower my action but i have a wooden bridge and i want to know how high to make the strings above the neck before i start grinding away. Thanks

You might have better luck getting help with this one at over at http://www.rockabillybass.com. While string height is pretty much a matter of personal preference, the folks on that board are primarily slappers (some pros) and you'll get lots of help.
