Question How do I repair a cracked rib?

Please explain how to repair a cracked rib. A local luthier filled it with glue, but the crack is continuing to spread, so I'd like to tackle this on my own.

I've had a few cracks in my bass' ribs over the years and glue and clamping is all they needed. None have reopened. It has to be done right.
