Humidifier... how close to your bass ?

I purchased a humidifier. Instructions are saying : "do not place too close from wood furniture that could be affected by an exess of humidity". My question : how far from my bass should it be ?

Is this a misting or an evaporative humidifier? I always recommend an evaporative one because the misting ones can end up wetting nearby objects or causing mineral dust to form on them. If you are using a misting humidifier, I'd keep a minimum distance of about 15 feet.

OK, I just checked... it's a "ultrasonic" humidifier... supposed to dissolve faster in the air.

Yes, the ultrasonic ones are what I called misting humidifiers. When I've had to use an ultrasonic mister in an emergency, I kept it a good 10 ft. or so from the bass. That's one of the reasons I recommend evaporative models. Not five minutes ago, I refilled mine for the night.
