Beware of spring, too!

I guess I'm a humidity control-freak. I have a digital hygrometer, a whole-house humidifer, and a separate evaporative humidifier for the room where the bass lives. At the onset of spring this year, the humidity was stable at 40-50% without the evaporative humidifier so I put it away. Then we hit a spell of dry weather and the humidity dropped like a rock-- I mean into the 30's!

The whole-house humidifier and the extra evaporative humidifier that worked so well all winter long were insufficient. It took the addition of a third, ultrasonic model to keep the room in the safe range.

Keep your eye on that hygrometer in the spring if you live in the northeast.

I've got four room humidifiers around the place, one is dedicated to the bass room, it's a discontinued model that has a very accurate (according to my digital unit against which I compared it) internal gauge that kicks it in when the room drops too low. Adequate humidity is a personal health issue with me due to past surgical adventures; my basses and I like 40% or so.
