intalling strings.

any idea why art davis (RIP) installed his strings like this?


does it have something to do with the afterlength angle over the bridge?

Maybe it increased the tension on the table and he got a louder tone?

i was thinking maybe that was the case...thats the only reason i could see for it.

i did that for a while when my E was sounding dull. it seemed to work. eventually changed to a heavier string and didn't need it any more.

I've seen several people do this for a supposed improvement in tone.
