ISB bass luthiers inquiry

Will the Basses, at the ISB Makers Competition, be on display all week or, is this just a two day affair?

Only on Tuesday, all day. CT, are you entering yours?

I did not enter (I am not worthy). If I go, I'll be going as a tourist.

It would be good to enter, just for the feedback from other makers. There will be a lot of knowledge in that room.

Ever see a Guiseppi Guarneri violin? Scroll all lopsided, purfling gaps, f-holes don't match? Sounds like Nicolo Paganini?

You're worthy, man. Your instruments play all twelve note (and, in hands like mine, more than that unfortunately).

Greetings All!

Please go by Jean Auray's stand at the ISB (I think he will be with or near David Gage) and play the bass he just made for me. Since I am in Cologne, and he is near Lyon, I can't pick up the instrument before July. Jean asked me if he could take it to the ISB to display, so please check it out and let me know what you think.

I haven't played it yet—you get to play it before I do

Jean just wrote a couple of days ago and said that the bass played its first notes . . .

I am rather excited wondering how it turned out . . .

You really ought to take that bass and enter, and if you don't enter take it anyway.

Arnold, do you mean the makers will only be there one day?
I'm not sure I'm going to be able to go, but If I'm able I'd like to meet you.

best,

No. Tuesday is the only day that all the makers' instruments are on display for everyone to see, touch and play. But many of the guys hang around for a good part of the week.

ISB convention

Ask and you shall receive…we are just home from a very long day at ISB.

Both of us are on sensory overload…in a good way. Here is the slide show the narration will need to come later.

Enjoy!
