Kay Question

I recently acquired two 1954 Kay C-1s for free. Both are currently unplayable. I don't know much about repair, but one of them looks pretty bad. The back seems to becoming unglued from the neck block. The other bass only has a broken scroll and a bridge that is too big. Now to my questions: Can I just glue the scroll back on with epoxy? How do I lower a bridge with no adjustors or is that a luthier job?

both are jobs for a luthier. Have a look at Bob Gollihur's luthier list, or someone here may know someone in your area. Never use Epoxy to glue a scroll!

Alexi, I think he's talking about those pop-off scroll ears that Kay and Englehardt use....I don't think it matters what you use to glue 'em back on.
