KC strings tilt block

Has any one tried one of these. I'm a confirmed laborie end pin guy, and it seems like a nice alternative to drilling a hole in my bass.

I've used the tilt block several times including for compound angles when the interior end block was not wide enough to safely allow drilling into the bass. If one uses their usual method of mounting you cannot use a conventional wheel.

does anyone else have any experiences with the tilt block? does it dampen the sound of the bass? if you we choosing for the least dampened sound would you choose to drill or use the block?
