KDB "Slappy", Repairs Needed

Howdy.

I have a 3-year-old KDB SlapKing, black. Recently I noticed a crack in the finish where the fingerboard joins the neck. This crack has been getting longer and on both sides of the neck. I think it's coming unglued. There's also now about 1/16" of daylight between the fingerboard and the nut. I'm afraid this thing will fall apart on a gig. Can anybody in the forum get me in touch with Jason Burns or what's left of KDB, or recommend someone close to Ventura California that can do a proper repair on this instrument? Thanks much.

Perhaps the fingerboard is coming unglued. I'm not sure what to make of the gap you mentioned between the nut and the fingerboard without actually seeing it. That might be a preexisting setup issue in that the nut might not have been carved correctly the first time around.

We can probably give you a better diagnosis if you posted some pics.
