Sure there some great resources like many of the pages on K. Smith's site and others, but for all the photos of the outsides of the instruments, the insides are just as interesting. Anybody want to post some links we may not have seen, or some of their own photos?
Maybe we can just have a "dismembered bass" thread. Old, new, good bad ugly... Post away!

I believe this bass was made in China and retails for $999.00.

I took these photos of my Kai Arvi while repairs were in progress. My luthier fixed a very small rib crack (caught very early) and a top crack, and checked on a number of other top cracks before deciding they were most likely very secure. |

There, above the reply space, you will see a lot of editing functions. On the left, you have your Bold, Italics, and Underline. Towards the right, two slots before the 'number sign' or 'pound sign', you will see a square with what looks like a couple of mountains and a moon. You can hover over this symbol, and it will say 'Insert Image'. Click on it.
A pop-up will appear with the message "Please enter the URL of your image:". Just copy and paste the link, and that's it.

She is such a great luthier. I was pretty stoked about her work as compared to other shops around there. I took my bass to a different luthier, and they missed a soundpost crack in the top. She found it, put some glue in there, and it's still holding. If I wouldn't have caught it when it was so small, it would have gotten quite large I'm guessing. Nice bass, by the way.
Sorry for the thread derailment

Look at the little edit boxes above the box your write in. The picture one looks like a little mountain. Copy and paste your URL in that box and you're done.
If you want to write it you'll have to view the thing in text rather than wysiwyg. I'd write it here but you'd never see it cause it would process it like an image. |
